Shalisa Davis was born in St. Louis, MO and raised in the inner city of Chicago. Graduated high school at the age of 17 and joined the United States Marine Corps. She retired from the Marine Corps as a Major with 24+ years of honorable active duty as a Financial Manager. Shalisa currently works as a Financial Management Analyst with the federal government, a loving wife, and mother of two children. Shalisa has also shattered the Guinness Book of World Records for the fastest female to complete 7 real/public marathons, on 7 continents. Also, she is the first African American women to complete 7 marathons on 7 continents in 7 days. Also a Nominee of the Runner’s World 2016 Cover Search; where she went from the 22nd spot to 10th in a short 2-week period.

Shalisa was also recognized at the Black Distance Runner’s Hall of Fame in St. Louis in Apr 2017 by the NBMA.


She has completed 150 marathons/ultras which include the following:

  • A marathon in every state plus DC (completed in Sept 2016)
  • A marathon on every continent (completed in Jan 2017)
  • 100 marathons achieved in Mar 2016
  • Completed the grueling Great Wall of China marathon in May 2017
  • Three 100-mile races (placed 2nd in 2016 race)
  • Eight 50-mile races
  • Five 24-hour races
  • One 12-hour race
  • Twelve 50K races
  • One 49K race in Alaska
  • 50+ half marathons
  • Countless 5Ks, 8Ks, and 10Ks
