Marriage is the golden ring in a chain whose beginning is a glance and whose ending is Eternity.
Arguably the most important decision anyone of us will make is who we decide to spend the rest of our lives with. With whom will we spend the good times and the bad? Who will we build a lifetime of memories with? This month, Griots Republic takes you on a journey to explore Global Weddings and all of their nuances.
In this issue, we look at wedding dresses and traditional materials in Somalia with designer Shukri Hashi. We also check out wedding dress street in Guangzhou, China. From the dress to the cake and over to the decorator, we have you covered with interviews with renowned designers Elizabeth Solaru and Preston Bailey. Seeing the world through their eyes is frankly eye-opening and will have you pining for the luxuries in life.
Now, when it comes to music and romance, we had to catch up with Damien Escobar, the violin crooner. Damien talked to GR moments before taking the stage in Harlem, and he opens up to us about his first love (music), his upcoming tour and his new cd, “Boundless.” A must have for ceremonies and receptions alike.
But wait, there’s more. There’s our Father’s Day tribute to the state of black fathers, a historical piece on jumping the broom, and of course, Antoine Kinch is here to continue his 6-part financial planning series. With that said, I think we’ve covered the gamut of weddings, but send us a note and tell us what you think.
Thank you for your support and readership,
